WHO IS FIONA?
Fiona Spotswood is a mountain bike leader who has been riding bikes all her life. She competed in adventure racing and endurance events off road before having children and now dedicates her spare time to fun rides with friends in Bristol and leading groups around our incredible trails. Fi has a love for adventure and making sure everybody gets an opportunity and feels welcome to take part. In her day job Fi is Associate Professor in Marketing and Consumption at the University of Bristol where she specialises in understanding people’s experiences of sport and physical activity, particularly marginalised groups. She leads Project FIAS (Fostering, Inclusive Action Sports), which focuses on addressing gender inequality in mountain biking. For FIAS, she created a tool kit for building inclusive communities of women+ mountain bikers. Fi also runs the totally awesome off road bike club Bristol Shredders for children and their grown ups and is trustee for Ride Bristol, the charity that looks after and develops Bristol’s mountain bike trails.
Fi works for us on a freelance basis. If you would like to specifically request her to lead your group please email ollie@pedalprogression.com
