What Does a Mountain Bike Party Session Include?

The structure of a mountain bike party session depends on the riders’ skill levels. Each session begins with a brief introduction to the equipment, allowing participants to get familiar with their bikes and feel comfortable and safe. We’ll then do warm-ups and fun games to assess each child’s abilities. After that, we’ll focus on important skills to ensure safety and maximize the enjoyment of the ride. Finally, we’ll head to a trail section suitable for the group’s ability level, where we’ll go for an exciting ride. If you do not want to ride the trails but would prefer to continue with games, obstacles, jumps and slaloms we can do this too, it often suits groups with a wide range of abilities or if some of the young people are very new to riding bikes.

What is the Required Cycling Ability for a Children’s Mountain Bike Party?

For our children’s mountain bike parties, riders must be able to ride a bike without stabilisers, unsupported by an adult. Once this minimum skill level is met, our instructor(s) will assess each rider’s ability and select suitable trails for the group. We strive to keep the group together for a fun, safe experience unless you specifically request to split the group based on ability levels.

Can Children Bring Their Own Bikes?

Yes, children can bring their own bikes to the mountain bike party. However, we recommend using our bikes, as they are regularly checked for safety by our qualified instructors. If a child brings their own bike, there will be a £5 discount per child. Please note that we require an additional 5 minutes per bike for checks, so early arrival is necessary to avoid delays in the session.

What Trails Will We Ride During the Party?

Our mountain bike parties typically take place on either the wide track gravel trails or the blue grade (beginner to intermediate) Nova mountain bike trail. If the group’s ability level is lower, we can lead bike games, ride through the woods, weave through the trees on easier trails. For most groups, we can still give them a taste of mountain biking by exploring parts of the trail, even with beginners.

Can You Cater for Mixed Ability Groups?

Absolutely! We can accommodate groups with mixed ability levels. To ensure safety and enjoyment for everyone, the trails will be chosen to suit the least experienced riders. If your group has a wide range of abilities or if there are specific trails you’d like to include, feel free to discuss it with us in advance.

Can Parents Join the Mountain Bike Party?

Parents are welcome to follow along during the party, but please note that they are not part of the group in terms of instruction or supervision. Our qualified instructors are responsible for guiding the children during the session. Parents should only instruct their own children, not others in the group.

Are Your Instructors Qualified and Certified?

Yes, all our instructors are fully qualified according to national standards and are certified for outdoor first aid. They are insured, have enhanced DBS checks, and work at a British Cycling Accredited Mountain Bike Leadership Centre. You can trust that your child’s safety and enjoyment are in expert hands.

Can You Accommodate Dietary Requirements for the Party?

Absolutely! We can accommodate any dietary needs or allergies. Just let us know when you make your booking, and we will ensure the party experience meets everyone’s needs.
