Islabikes And Whyte Kids Bikes

We have a range of high quality kids bikes available to hire from Islabikes and Whyte. Islabikes are known to be an industry leader in lightweight kids bicycles, perfect to get your young’uns started on their mountain biking journey. Our Whyte bikes are a little more robust, offering ‘grown up’ features like disc brakes (all models) and suspension forks (on the 26″ wheel 403).

Ashton Courts Nova Trail

The Nova Trail at Ashton Court is designed to be accessible to a wide range of riders, including children. In fact, the 7.5km Nova trail is a super exciting prospect to many kids, with return visits growing them in confidence and ability. The gradient is never too severe but there are lots of trail features packed in, that make the loop a blast. It really is the perfect place for your first experience of mountain biking and we’ve got it, here in Bristol!

Kids Ride Shotgun – In Stock

Pedal Progression are stockists of We Ride Shotgun; a brand leading the way in child seats and accessories that engage the child front and centre, even if they can’t ride a bike yet. Suitable for kids aged 2-5 years old, the design keeps the child centred on the bike, creating a secure and balanced feel. Fi is using a Shotgun with her daughter in the photo below. Her daughter is holding the handlebars on Fi’s bike but bolt on kids handlebars are available for a more complete experience. We stock the range of shotgun products and hire some too, including:

This is the newest version of the popular seat with a revised design for securing it to your bike. It’s much quicker to fit and clamps against the seatpost and stem spacers, rather than bike frame.

A super cool design, allowing you to ‘tow’ your child up the hills when their legs are tiring! Perfect if you have an e-bike and an added workout if you don’t! The hip pack stows the rope away when your not using it and is designed for the child to wear. Say goodbye to “I don’t want to ride up this hill”!

Skills Academy – Kids MTB Coaching

For the last 6 years we’ve been running childrens mountain bike coaching. The sessions run typically through the school holidays, are always in high demand and usually sell out very quickly. Bristol Shredders – Kids MTB Club

With so many kids enjoying riding and learning new skills, we found the need for a regular kids mountain bike club and so with some local parents, we help set one up. Bristol Shredders is not organised by Pedal Progression but Ollie Cain, who set up our Skills Academy is one of the parent leaders.
