Our Fundamentals Public Half Day is all about teaching you the essential skills required to ride trails with confidence. As a group, you’ll understand why the fundamentals are the most important skills to master and how they are the building blocks to your progression.
The fundamentals of mountain biking aren’t mastered quickly. Learning perfect balance, movement and control around corners and over various terrain is something that you can still be learning many years after your first off-road ride.
The drills and techniques in this course can easily be tailored to suit beginners and more experienced riders so that everyone can benefit from their coaching time. No matter who you are, there is much to learn and plenty to gain from our fundamentals course that will improve your riding and confidence.
In this session we will establish the essential body position to overcome all aspects of the trail. From a perfect position you’ll develop skills in cornering to carry speed and stay balanced, you’ll learn wheel lifts and hops for greater mobility while developing good habits and self awareness through simple and progressive exercises.
This course is guaranteed to get you riding safer, smarter and faster.

“In 10 years of coaching riders of all abilities, I always come back to coaching the fundamentals for much of my first session with a new rider, even if they tell me they’ve done the Mega Avalanche, can jump 20 feet or have a very expensive bike. In fact, I’m still working on my own fundamental skills after 25 years of riding experience” – Matt George, Pedal Progression founder and coach.
