Pedal Progression are hiring! We are looking for staff to be a part of the friendly team running our bike hire centre over the busy Spring and Summer months. You must be over 18 and have great customer service skills, love bikes, work well under pressure (when it’s particularly busy) and be organised and reliable.
The job will consist of welcoming, taking bookings and selling bike hire as well as providing our customers with the award winning service we’ve developed over the last 5 years. Applicants should be as good at listening as they are communicating and have a friendly manner. We also have a small shop space, so knowledge of the product we sell is also desirable but we can give training around this.
You’ll also need some mechanical knowledge and a good grasp of how a bike works. We can offer training in how to look after the bikes as you’ll need to make sure they’re tip top each time they leave the shop, however it’d be desirable if the applicant was already competent.
We can offer a great rate of pay and benefits for the right person. At weekends, you’ll get a lunch break so you could go for a ride or chill out in the beautiful Ashton Court Estate. What better place to work than with customers who are relaxed and out for a good time! You’ll meet some great people and in a beautiful environment! Due to the job having a mixture of responsibilities in and out of the shop, we often find ourselves coming out of the summer with a great sun tan and you can too!
The successful applicant will be contracted to work approximately 10 hours a week including one weekend day. Working days will need to be slightly flexible, though you will receive your hours a minimum of a month in advance to help you plan. We’ll need you to be on it from the start of May until the end of August (possibly September). On top of that, we’ll give training hours throughout April to get you zoned in to how we work and acclimatised.
Here are a list of things we NEED in an employee:
- Commitment & reliability
- Good time keeping
- Good communication skills
- Honesty
- Friendly nature
- Some bicycle knowledge
- Some mechanical knowledge
And some things that could be useful on top of the above:

- Nun-chuck skills (just kidding)
The deadline for your application is Wednesday 28th February 2018. Please send a copy of your CV to matt@pedalprogression.com with a covering letter explaining what you’re up to in life and why you think you’re suitable for the position.
We look forward to hearing from you!
