WHO IS OLLIE CAIN?

Ollie has been around bikes for long time! Growing up he discovered the freedom to travel and enjoy the outdoors on a mountain bike. Having worked in the industry for over 20 years, he has a passion for sharing his love of riding with all who he meets.

He’s ridden all over the world, from Whistler, to the French Alps and Chilean Lake District and enjoys testing himself in all MTB disciplines. Whether it’s an epic all day across the hills, hitting a new jump, drop or section of challenging trail, even at the ripe old age of 45 he still loves to push his limits and improve his skills whenever out on the bike.

Ollie has a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer. He has been heading up our Skills Academy youth programme since it’s inception in 2015 and has a specific interest in getting kids out and active in the woods to support a healthy lifestyle, physical health and mental well-being. He has experience of working with children in early years and primary school settings but most of all enjoy’s getting them out on their bikes to soak up all the pleasures that mountain biking has to offer.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH OLLIE

Most memorable day riding bikes:
South Downs Way in a day 1996 with only enough money for a pork pie and mars bar.

Favourite Bike:
Anything with wheels and pedals – at the moment I am loving my new Norco Sight.

Riding Aspirations:
I’d love one day to ride one of the epic multi-day off road events, maybe TransAlp or the TransRockies.

Essential Pre-Ride Preparations:
Anyone who knows me, knows I can’t do anything, especially riding bikes without a very large black coffee
